Let's talk about the 6-second bumper

To many, it’s just a cutdown. That annoying part of the edit where we try to squish our 30 or 15-second masterpiece into a tiny 6 seconds.

But at ETB, we see the 6-second bumper as much more than just a cutdown.

This non-skippable, snackable content has a lot of potential when given the time of day.

Google recommends running a 6-second bumper in combination with TrueView Ads to increase their effectiveness. So instead of cutting down an ad the audience has seen or will see, let's think of our bumper as an extension of the story. It could be an iteration, a continuation or even the first tease.

Google’s analytics suggest people are tuning out when fed the same content multiple times.

More story trumps repetition.

Let’s also not forget how quick 6” seconds is.If you have multiple points, why not a bumper series?

At Eric, Tom & Bruce, we believe no asset should be left behind. So we’re thinking about that 6-second bumper in pre-production not post. We want to buddy up with your media team and intertwine our creative approach from the get-go.

We understand the easiest route is to make a cutdown. But investing in your 6” as much as your 15” will pay off.

So come to us for your next 6-second bumper and we’ll make sure it gets the love it deserves.
